Oh God.

For starters, Clark is looking good.

So Brendan went to New York, Aaron is at work, and Bill didn't come home till late. Meanwhile, my friend Colin dropped off a lovely piece of real-live priest furniture for us to use as a TV stand. However, this may not work as we did not adequately measure...anything.

Here is a close-up of the woodcarving.

After that, I sorted and soaked some beans and watched Desperado. When the movie ended, I went to check on the beans and saw the cat scurrying about on the kitchen counter, trying to climb on top of the refrigerator. I had seen a mouse go back there earlier in the day but I figured it ran away when the cat knocked over some wine bottles trying to get to it. BOY WAS I WRONG! I cleared the top of the fridge off, noting that it was generously sprinkled with mouse shits. As I was pulling down a moldy package of Tandoori naan, lo and behold: a tail! Oh god. At first, I assumed that the mouse was dead and that the other mouse was simply coming to check up on this one and was in for a sad surprise. BUT THEN THE TAIL MOVED. Boy, did I lose it then! I gripped the package as tightly as I could to keep it shut and began to have a minor freakout. The mouse was staring at me, unmoving and so was the cat. Not knowing what to do, I called Bill. He didn't answer, so I called him, oh I don't know, 15 more times? You may not know this, but Verizon has a service where if you call someone so many times without leaving a voicemail, they are kind enough to step in, and ask you (via recording) to please stop calling or leave a goddamned message. I kept calling. At this point, though, I had completely lost it, and white-knuckled from gripping the naan shut, I walked to Stony Brook and just decided to wait for Bill to come home. Before I did that though, I checked the liquor store...with the naan-wrapped mouse in hand, apron on, and whispered to Bill thinking maybe he was behind whatever aisle I was in at the time. No such luck. Instead, I was forced to pace in front of the T stop for a good 20 minutes trying to determine if it was better to be in the dark (where the mouse would shake violently in the naan) or in the light (where it would stare at me unrelentingly). The crazy people were looking at me like I was crazy. I just kept hitting redial and worried about getting shot. Finally, the train Bill was on arrived and he took the mouse and threw it in a bush. Then we went home and I cried nervously!

For dinner, I made fideo!

backtracking just a bit

So before all that toothpaste testing got started a couple of other important events occurred.

1. Bill and I ate cheeseburgers for dinner.

2. David, Christopher, Richard AND SOME GIRLS came over to eat an enormous wedding cake. Incidentally, Christopher is married to one of THE GIRLS and so we could say that the cake was for him, but it was really for David's aunt. Either way, it's huge and delicious and we cut it using dental floss. And Richard fed some to his belly button. Generous!

4. AARON CAME HOME!!!!!!! After months of waiting for him to come back from The O.C., he finally showed up at our front door sporting a smart new haircut and some "nerd chic" glasses. Brendan just couldn't resist drawing a portrait!

A truly moral ABC.

Inspired by Dr. Bronner's Magic Soapbox, we decided to test his favored all purpose soap on our teeth.
Aaron was put off by the aftertaste, but we all agreed that it basically worked.
